เมื่อก่อน เด็กๆ ก็มักจะเล่นสนุกกันนอกบ้าน แต่เมื่อมีของเล่นชิ้นเล็กๆ อย่างตัวต่อไม้หรือบล็อคไม้เข้ามาก็ทำให้เด็กๆ สามารถเล่นอย่างสร้างสรรค์ในบ้านได้ด้วย บล็อคไม้ถูกดีไซน์มาเพื่อส่งเสริมจินตนาการ ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ และการเรียนรู้ของเด็กๆ แบบไม่มีขีดจำกัด
การต่อบล็อคก็เหมือนกับการสร้างโลกใบเล็กๆ ในรูปแบบหนึ่ง แต่ใน Other World: The Blox ศิลปินจะหาวิธีสนุกๆ ในการปฏิสัมพันธ์กับบล็อคพิเศษที่แสนจะ “นุ่มนิ่ม” และใช้ร่างกายในการทำงานกับพื้นที่โดยรอบ ขนาดที่เปลี่ยนไปของบล็อคเมื่อเทียบกับขนาดร่างกายของเราส่งผลให้เราได้ลองมองโลกรอบๆ ตัวเราในมุมมองใหม่
“Other World : The Blox” เป็นการแสดงเต้นที่ในตอนแรก BICT Fest ได้สร้างขึ้นสำหรับงานของ One Bangkok โดยมีที่มาจากผลงานอาเธอร์เวิลด์ ออน เดอะ มูฟ (2566) ที่เป็นผลงานสร้างสรรค์ของศิลปินไทย ภคมน เหมะจันทร์ และ คาเงะ มุลวิไล ซึ่งพัฒนามาจากคอนเซ็ปต์ของงาน อาเธอร์ เวิลด์ โดยศิลปินที่พำนักในเยอรมนี Alfredo Zinola และ Anne Helene ใน BICT Fest 2024 นี้ นักแสดงจะเล่นกับ Kitblox บล็อคนุ่มๆ หลากสีโดยการออกแบบของคุณญารินดา บุนนาค โดยความร่วมมือกับ MAPPA ที่ได้มาร่วมสร้างสรรค์สนามเด็กเล่นในงาน และส่งเสริมให้เด็กๆ และ ครอบครัวได้มาเล่นและปล่อยพลังจินตนาการด้วยกัน

In the past, playtime mostly occurred outdoors. However, the arrival of wooden blocks facilitated indoor play, making it more accessible. Designed to boost learning and creativity, wooden blocks stimulate imagination, encourage free play, and foster open-ended learning.
Building block toys typically depict miniature worlds, but in Other World: The Blocs, the performers will playfully explore different ways to interact with special and “squishy” blocks, using their bodies to explore and interact with the landscape. The comparison of the size of the objects to the human body is significant, influencing our perception of the world around us.
“Other World : The Blox” is a dance performance first commissioned by One Bangkok for Bangkok Design Week 2024. The work has been developed from “Other World On The Move”, a collaboration between Pakhamon Hemachandra and Kage Mulvilai (2023), which was originally created and performed by Alfredo Zinola and Anne Helene. In BICT Fest 2024, the performers will play with soft colourful blocks designed by Yarinda Boonnak, in collaboration with MAPPA, creating an interactive playground that encourages play and the release of imagination.

ภคมน เหมะจันทร์
ภคมน (เกิด 1990) เป็นศิลปินการแสดงอิสระที่อาศัยอยู่ในกรุงเทพฯ เธอสำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีจาก Victorian College of The Arts (เมลเบิร์น, ออสเตรเลีย) สาขาการเต้นในปี 2011 เข้าร่วม EDge Postgraduate Dance Company ของ London Contemporary Dance School – LCDS (ลอนดอน, สหราชอาณาจักร) และได้ทัวร์ทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศในปี 2012/ 2013 จากนั้น สำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาโทสาขาการแสดงเต้นร่วมสมัยที่ LCDS ในปี 2014

Pakhamon (Much) Hemachandra (Director)
Pakhamon Hemachandra (born in 1990) is an independent performance artist based in Bangkok. She is professionally trained at Victorian College of The Arts (Melbourne, Australia) and attained BA in Dance in 2011. Joined EDge Postgraduate Dance Company of London Contemporary Dance School – LCDS (London, UK), toured nationally and internationally for their 2012/2013 season. Completed her MA in Contemporary Dance Performance at LCDS in 2014.
Pakhamon is very much interested in working with the body, the very tool that expresses in an instinctive way, involving imagery, embodying the concept of body-mind connection, the total body generating innate body sensations/ movements. She is also passionate about teaching and helping people to gain better understanding of their bodies/individualities and working deeper from within; connecting with their own groove and flow.
Since 2015, Pakhamon has been working in numbers of projects across Asia and Europe; working with many choreographers as performers, working as artists/collaborators, as well as her individual works being presented in many platforms/festivals. She has participated in artists-residencies such as Southeast Asia Choreolab (Malaysia), International Choreographers Residency – American Dance Festival (USA), Southeast Asia Choreographers Network-Kelola Foundation (Indonesia), GreySpace (Singapore).
