64J (Joule) คือ ปริมาณพลังงานที่ใช้ในการเคลื่อนวัตถุที่มีน้ำหนัก 64 กิโลกรัม ด้วยความเร็ว 1 เมตรต่อวินาที เป็นระยะทาง 1 เมตร และยังสอดคล้องกับน้ำหนักตัวที่ไม่เคยเปลี่ยนของ พัค ซังฮยอน (Park Sang-hyun) ผู้ก่อตั้งกลุ่ม
จุดตั้งต้นในการทำงานของกลุ่ม มาจากคำถามที่ว่าจะใช้หลักการ “พลังงาน 64 จูล = การเคลื่อนไหว” อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพและเกิดผลสูงสุดได้อย่างไร โดยกลุ่มต้องการสร้างสรรค์การแสดงที่ยึดร่างกายเป็นศูนย์กลาง
กลุ่ม 64J (Joule) มุ่งสำรวจและรื้อข้อจำกัดของการแสดงในรูปแบบต่าง ๆ โดยนำวัตถุในชีวิตประจำวันเข้ามาใช้ในบริบทที่แตกต่างเพื่อสร้างประสบการณ์ที่แปลกใหม่และแปลกตา แทนที่จะใช้งานในรูปแบบเดิมที่คุ้นเคย นอกจากนี้พวกเขายังคงพัฒนางานอย่างต่อเนื่องผ่านทักษะความเชี่ยวชาญด้านต่าง ๆ เช่น การแสดงบนสแลคไวร์ (slack wire) และการทรงตัว (balance)
About the artist
64J (Joule) 64J represents the amount of energy required to move a 64kg object by 1 meter per second for 1 meter, and it’s also the unchanged weight of the representative Park Sang-hyun. The question of how to efficiently and effectively utilize ’64J of work = movement’ when creating a performance centered around the body became the starting point.
The group is breaking down various constraints of performances and incorporating everyday objects into the performance with unfamiliar sensations rather than the conventional ones. They continue to create based on main disciplines such as slack wire and balance.
